Committing to net zero targets can help make your climate commitment more credible. Third party validation of your target from a rigorous and well respected net zero initiative will give your company’s stakeholders added confidence in your targets.

These initiatives can also support your company in its net zero transition by connecting your company with resources. A bold net zero ambition will require immense levels of innovation, some of which will be too expensive or high risk for companies to solve on their own. Forming or joining an ecosystem of peers, academic institutions and investors will be helpful in unlocking progress and amplifying breakthroughs that can bring society closer to achieving its broader net zero targets.

ISO is currently developing a consensus-based set of net zero guiding principles that seek to add greater consistency and clarity around net zero, and ultimately increase global efforts to address climate change. The initiative is expected to be another leading standard for net zero targets.
